RE: MONDAY MORNING HAIKU

By Tim Rogers |

Okay, one more and then we’re done for the day. This one I even had to fact check. An out-of-town FBvian sends this wonderful poem:

Appendicitis?
Dawn breaks at the hospital
Just constipated

Well, okay, by “fact check” I mean I sent him a note and told him the haiku only counted if it was true. He wrote back:

Absolutely true. We had a doc’s appointment for tomorrow, that we had set on Friday, and after some pain over Saturday night, the doctor said on Sunday morning that if it didn’t get better we should take him [his son] to the hospital. It got better, then last night it got worse again. I spent the wee hours of this morning snoozing on the Linoleum floor of an emergency room, with a Potomac New/Manassas Journal-Messenger for a pillow.
