RE: MEDDLERS AND BUSYBODIES

Says it all.

If this “lights off” ordinance is actually enacted, how long after it goes into effect do you suspect we’ll hear about a rise in crime in the City’s entertainment districts (Deep Ellum, Greenville, SouthSide, etc.).  It’s pretty well accepted that (a) much crime in those areas occurs at and around closing time (2 AM), and (b) crime is more likely in poorly lit places.  So, the obvious answer to our City Council is to turn out the lights that help illuminate those districts at closing time.  Idiots.
