NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT, MY EARS HAVE BEEN BURNING

|

My father once told me that if no one is talking about you, it probably means you’re doing something wrong. I remembered that phrase when I checked FrontBurner last week from Virginia and found that three words at the end of my post had sparked so much interest.

In short: the post was written quickly. I admit it did not sound enough like a report about my night, since I focused more on the food than the scene. That was my bad. When I thanked Tristan, I was just trying to be polite. It was a fun party, and I was happy to have been invited, as the editor of Scene — not as a food writer. I’m new at this, and I’m going to make missteps. However, if I sound overly enthusiastic, and maybe a little naive, well, that’s fine. I am! If I think something is fantastic, I’m going to tell you about it.

Honestly, I find all this attention flattering. It means my writing is on a few more people’s radar now. And for that, you know who I have to thank.
