Unlike their painfully indecisive mayoral endorsements (three? really? three?), The Real Estate Council was pretty exacting in its DISD endorsements announced today. Jump for backslapping goodness.
Dallas, Texas, April 26, 2007 – The Real Estate Council (TREC) has announced its candidate endorsements for the Dallas Independent School District’s (DISD) Board of Trustees.
Members of TREC’s Community Leadership Committee reviewed questionnaires submitted by the full slate of DISD candidates, and also conducted personal interviews.Â
The endorsements for DISD Board Trustees are District 4, Nancy Bingham; District 5, Lew Blackburn; and District 7, Jerome Garza.
Duncan Fulton, TREC Public Affairs Committee chairman, said, “The Real Estate Council’s Community Leadership Committee believes these candidates’ vision for DISD is consistent with our mission, and that they will facilitate necessary growth and change in the district to make our city and our schools better, particularly for the students.”
The Real Estate Council Community Leadership Committee seeks to identify, endorse and support community leaders for public office who are committed to the organization’s mission, which is to influence action and to support change that will accomplish long-term job growth and enhanced quality of life in the greater Dallas area.
