KZPS DITCHES COMMERCIALS. KINDA.

Clear Channel must be a’scared of satellite radio and podcasts and the like. To compete, KZPS is replacing commercials with program sponsors. Says this NYT story, someone like, say, Southwest Airlines would sponsor an hour of programming and in return the deejay will casually mention how great Southwest Airlines is to get to Austin and stuff like that. The classic-rock format is also being tweaked to more of a “Texas-infected rock-country hybrid.” (Less Zep, more Skynyrd.) Good luck with all of that.
