YOUR WEEKEND PLANS

Where can you find Willie Nelson, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, Johnny Knoxville, Jessica (hi Adam) Simpson, Larry Hagman, the Dallas Black Dance Theater and the Cirque du Soleil performers all on one stage? (Albeit, one prays, not at the same time.) Nokia Theatre, that’s where and it will be Saturday night. The event is the inaugural fundraiser benefiting the Dallas/Fort Worth arts community.

Kinky Friedman (who would’ve been governor had folks not thrown away their votes on Chris Bell) will act as master of ceremonies at the event. Oh, and in the interest of disclosure, D is a sponsor. Jump for more details.

From the press release:

The AetheriA Foundation, established to enhance higher education opportunities of Dallas and Fort Worth arts students and the ongoing success of arts organizations in the Metroplex, will use proceeds from the concert — dubbed “An Artclectic Evening” — to award college scholarships to artistically gifted students from the Dallas and Fort Worth areas.

AetheriA Foundation has established a fund at Communities Foundation of Texas, which will administer the $25,000 scholarships.

With a concerted dual vision of serving both present and future performers, AetheriA Foundation will be aiding not only scholarship recipients but existing arts organizations as well, (AetheriA Foundation CEO Sean) Robinson added.

“‘An Artclectic Evening’ will be one of the most original events that area residents have had an opportunity to attend,” said AetheriA Foundation Founder and President David Anderson. “The event promises to mirror the spirit of AetheriA. No other benefit has combined the talent and entertainment that those in attendance will be exposed to in one evening.”
