Local News

Last night was my annual migration back to the Dallas Country Club. We had to arrive at 6 o’clock because my BF and all his buddies had to be at the caviar bar the minute the first jar was dumped on the ice swan. The good news was, this year there was caviar, unlike last year. The bad news was, it wasn’t quite up to snuff. There was much chatter about the quality of the Spanish roe (I won’t even mention the sweet American pink). There were lots of sequins and lots of plaid. I don’t get the plaid. Is it an Irish thing, or is it a Christmas thing? The annual party is special for me, because it’s the only time women are allowed in the men’s card room, where my grandfather’s portrait hangs alongside those of other past DCC presidents. I stood by the portrait all night and received my people. Back to you, Reid.
