I can’t believe we haven’t heard from Reid–he is all about slaughtering. But seriously folks, all is not fair in love, war, and agribusiness. The average person in the US consumes 195 pounds of meat a year, and we sling a barb at the French who happen to like Flicka a’Lorange? I don’t kill mosquitoes, but I believe that if you’re gonna eat dead animals, then any plentiful critter is fair game. It’s considered horrendous that a horse is slaughtered when it is only 4 years old? Chickens should be so lucky–they live maybe 75 days packed in wire cages with less than half a square foot of floor space per bird. Who are we to say that fish don’t have souls and they die a slow and torturous death at any age. People who say, “I don’t eat red (or horse) meat” and then order chicken or fish make me crazy. Hypocrites–most of them don’t say no when it comes to a pair of leather Jimmy Choos. You’re either in or out. Don’t whine to me. But if you’re a vegan, I’ll help you find a frivolous Fume Blanc to pair with tofu. I hear tempeh a’Lorange is all the rage in LA.
