FRY GUY

|

Congrats to Abel Gonzalez Jr. for winning a Big Tex Choice Award for the second year in a row. He took a prize last year with the Fried PBJ and Banana. This year, Fried Coke. A quibble, though. The story includes this (and the AP version does as well):

Abel Gonzales’ Fried Coke idea came from just thinking aloud.

“A friend of mine said, ‘What are they going to think about next, fried Coke?” Gonzales said. “I started experimenting with a lot of Coke, a dough and finally arrived at the finished product.”

Okay. That’s not thinking aloud. That’s hearing a friend say, “Fried Coke,” and then going out and frying Coke.
