Internet surveys of subjects like “20 Meanest Bosses,” “Worst Traffic Cities,” and “50 Sexiest TV Weathergirls” are extremely popular and a staple of blogs like FrontBurner. One such poll by Forbes.com rated “America’s Drunkest Cities,” wherein Dallas placed 27th (Milwaukee was #1). Fun stuff, interesting reading, right? Well, be careful what you believe, says Carl Bialak of the Wall Street Journal’s online site, WSJ.com. These surveys are hardly “scientific.”
