A little weekly newspaper called Park Cities News (disclosure: it competes against our Park Cities People) has an interesting strategy. Here’s its response to a bank marketing director who sent it a press release about the hiring of a new officer:
This is a business press release. Our business editorial space is limited and used for advertisers that support the Park Cities News. If you would like to place that particular ad, I would be happy to publish the release. The cost of the ad would be $1,102.50.
