If I were running the Morning News, the series on Mary Ellen Bendtsen and her Swiss Avenue mansion that started on Sunday is exactly the kind of tale I would be publishing. Kill the wire stories, the foreign bureaus, the pretentions to regional coverage: stick with your city, and go for the jugular. Kudos to reporter Lee Hancock and the editors.
