SUPER-SIZE PATRIZIO?

|

A hungry FrontBurnervian brings to our attention this story from Sunday’s paper about Ed Bailey, one of the most successful McDonald’s franchisees in the world and also the newish owner of Patrizio. Our FBvian writes:

I was particularly troubled by this passage: “Mr. Bailey says he … intends to move forward with his plans to tweak and then overhaul the popular Italian food original in Highland Park Village.” Any insight was to what the “tweaking” and “overhauling” will entail? I’ve noticed numerous small changes over the summer–prices, wine list, etc.–but nothing that would qualify as an overhaul. Further, does this fly in the face of Jack Knox’s memo to his employees wherein he told his employees, “Don’t worry! Patrizio is going to remain Patrizio”? Tweaking and overhauling typically doesn’t maintain the status quo. Further still, based on the hour wait for a table over the weekend, is there really anything that needs overhauling? Inquiring FBvians need to know.

I just saw Nancy and her new monkey paw in the office for the first time in two weeks. If she’s not up to typing, maybe I can channel her.
