More from the FB Nation on the state government’s abuse of its own parks system:

The political double talk on the parks funding is, on the one hand, yet another indication of why we should not be electing lawyers to the legislature. They don’t get parks and they don’t get education. On the other hand, if you will consider what rest stops look like in many other states along interstate highways and look at what rest stops look like along interstates in Texas, it’s very clear that we are still stuck in the ’50s when it comes to caring about how others perceive our state. Shame on Perry for hiding behind political double talk on this.
