In Rockwall County, they said they were going to pray for rain, which is kinda goofy. Except for two reasons: 1) saying you’re going to pray for rain might just raise people’s awareness of the drought. And 2) apparently just threatening to pray for rain actually makes it rain, by the looks of things yesterday. (Side note: at my favorite Tom Thumb yesterday, as it was pouring outside, I felt a little silly restocking our current issue when I saw some empty racks. One woman looked at me as if to say, “Parched? Really?” Nice work, Rod.)
