For all of you folks who used to drive 30 minutes just to get your fill of the tasty menu at Fireside Pies, you now have the option of dining at the new location at The Shops at Legacy in Plano. It officially opens to the public this evening at 5 p.m.
We attended one of the opening parties last night and, as always, were very pleased with the delicious pizza, salad, and (my favorite desert on the menu) market pie. Our server, who just moved here from Los Angeles four months ago, was very friendly and attentive. She said she quit her job at another restaurant in the area to join the more “fun” environment of Fireside.
The crowd consisted mainly of those who traveled north from Uptown to get a glimpse of the new space. The verdict from most: it’s bigger, but other than that, very comparable to the Henderson Avenue location (minus the much coveted patio–they had to opt for a breezeway set-up due to building restrictions). They even added wood shutters on the windows to give it that homey, log cabin feeling that we all love so much about the original location. You might even forget you’re in the middle of the suburbs.
