If you happen to trudge through DMN‘s Bold Types, you may have noticed this item from last week. Dallas County’s Public Information Officer and 25-year veteran Don Peritz has been reassigned to traffic so that a Spanish-speaking PIO could take his place. I suppose I see the benefit, but I–and I’m sure many other media-types in town–hate to see Don go. If I were in the mood to make a pun I’d say something about him being a “straight-shooter,” but I’m not so I won’t.
