SEMI-JACKING ENDS PEACEFULLY

|

A collective sigh of relief that the carjack/truckjack/hostage situation that led local cops through three counties yesterday evening ended peacefully. I only caught about 15 minutes of the ordeal, which was enough time to hear a couple of insinuations that the suspect chose to talk to WFAA’s Rebecca Lopez and only WFAA’s Rebecca Lopez. There was also a man-on-the-side-of-the-highway interview that still boggles my mind. The main question was, “Why, sir, did you choose to pull over and watch the chase?” (Um, cause they closed the highway?) The follow-up question was, “You have a special interest in this, don’t you?” The answer: Yes, I’m a truck driver. “As a truck driver, are you surprised that the suspect is able to drive as long as he has without tires on the front two wheels?” Answer, in its entirety: “No.” It was like a witness report from someone who hadn’t witnessed anything, mixed with an expert interview of an expert in something tangentially related.
