SATURDAY MORNING MAIL

Here is a letter from the incredibly squeezable Richard Wingfield, owner of Wingfield’s Breakfast & Burgers, winner of this year’s Best Burger:

Dear D Magazine:
With deep appreciation, I humbly accept the title of “Champ of Chuck” bestowed on my little restaurant, Wingfield’s Breakfast & Burgers, in the May issue of D.
My business is up, which demonstrates the faith that Dallas diners have in the judgment of your investigative reporters. Thank you to Nancy Nichols and her tasting team for taking on the time- and calorie-consuming task of judging the many wonderful hamburgers in Dallas.
I enjoyed reading about their quest for the best burger, and am proud to wear the crown for 2006.

Sometimes I love my job. Peace out, Richard.(I can’t believe I said that.)
