An alert FBvian says it ain’t true that there are approximately 120 25-year-old loblolly pines per acre:
Assumes that the pines were cut from a virgin forest when in reality they were specifically planted and raised on a tree farm run by a paper company. The trees have been genetically developed for fast growth and are generally harvested when 10-15 years old. The cleared acreage is replanted. More.
Whew. THAT makes me feel better.
