LIPSCOMB THE NEW LAZARUS?

|

Over on Dallas Blog, Rufus Shaw pens an interesting piece, Is Al Running? that wonders if the infamous scandal-ridden Dallas pol Al Lipscomb might not make a run for James Fantroy’s Distrcit 8 City Council seat. Fantroy, who is leaving due to term limits, has endorsed respected businessman Tennell Atkins for his post. But don’t count out Al, who has what Shaw says is “the highest name recognition of any candidate vying to replace” the African American candidates leaving due to term limits. But come on. We all have enough evidence that Al is all about Al and only Al and that’s where it ends. Hopefully Lipscomb’s embarrassing defeat in the last election is enough to keep him on the sidelines where he belongs.
