An about-town-FBvian, actually, me, who rarely gets past Lee Harvey’s, Louie’s and the Old Monk, was treated by a visiting food writer Saturday to a visit to Stephan Pyles. I’m not the dining critic so you won’t have to endure me shredding the place, but it was worth the drop-in to encounter former and wish-he-were-future-mayor Ron Kirk, looking very cool in apricot-colored tropical shirt, waiting at the bar with his lovely wife for their dinner guests. They ordered water, if you’re curious. I didn’t try to talk him into running, as I might have been escorted out. But I thought about it.
