GOOD MORNING, VIETNAM

Driving along Fitzhugh this morning just east of Ross, I looked across a vacant field to see a woman coming out of a tree line. She was dressed in a blue blouse and pants much like pajamas, wearing a conical straw hat. On one shoulder, she balanced a long bamboo pole with two black plastic bags on either end. There may be migration into the northern burbs, but this part of East Dallas, from its restaurants to its community garden, still very much can call itself Little Asia.
