BEST 4TH OF JULY PARADE

By reid |

If you want a fun, even inspiring slice of Americana, head over to the Park Cities tomorrow morning for the community’s annual 4th of July Parade. More than 10,000 people will line the two-mile parade route (lots of viewing space along Preston Road, between Beverly Drive and University Blvd.) to see more than 150 floats, antique cars, kids on bicycles, and more. It all starts at 9 a.m. and finishes at Goar Park with booths, games, music, and cold treats. Unabashedly patriotic with a refreshing measure of small-town hokiness thrown in, this is the real deal. That night, you can hang out in Highland Park Village and (for free!) watch the Dallas Country Club fireworks show–one of the best in town–light up the sky.
