ANOTHER ONE TO BITE THE DUST

|

What a depressing week for Dallas dining. First, Il Mulino announces it will close, and now I hear that my earlier suspicions about George being the next to shutter are true. A new FrontBurnervian Foodie writes:

I was referred to your blog by a loyal reader and GEORGE restaurant fan. He was much dismayed when I confirmed your speculation about the impending demise of the restaurant. He hurried off to make reservations for this weekend. I’ve heard from several chefs that they have been shopping the place around town to see if anyone is interested in taking it over. I have no idea why there has been no public announcement to give everyone a chance for one last great meal at GEORGE.I know I’ll miss it!

This makes me sad. I agree with his spirit. If this is in fact the last weekend for George, then let’s mob the place. (We should have been doing that all along.) BTW, owners George and Katie Brown’s catering business, George Catering, is still going strong.
