One day after Matt Pulle broke news about Sheriff Lupe Valdez flunking a law enforcement test, comes word of County Judge Margaret Keliher’s unhappiness. She’s pissed with Valdez and thinks the state should draw guidelines as to who can ascend to top law enforcement posts. A former district judge, Keliher says she didn’t gain her job by flunking the bar: “You wouldn’t say, ‘They didn’t pass the bar exam, don’t worry about it, it’s really not important.'”

(Quick aside: the DMN has the story of the flunked test today, but since it didn’t break the news, it buries it on 2B.)
