MERCY IS LAID TO REST

|

A loyal FBvian attended the funeral of the now-famous dog. She reports:

It brought me out of my evil-humanity-induced depression to attend Mercy’s memorial service in Carrollton Saturday at Operation Kindness. Tons of people attended from all walks, colors, and faiths, young and old, and many brought along their own pets to say goodbye to a 10-month-old puppy who was stabbed, tortured, and burned by his owner. (This monster is out on a $250 bail bond, I was told.) We were handed candles and listened to inspiring words from the Rev. Ed Townley of Unity Church, Jonnie England from Operation Kindness, 105.3’s Russ Martin, and Martha Powell from the World Affairs Council. Mercy was laid to rest in a small velvet box, and we all said our goodbyes amid flowers and tears, so many the OK folks handed out tissues.

If anything good comes of this singular act of cruelty, it will be greater PR for OK. Most of the folks at the funeral said they wished the same fate for the dog’s owner as he allegedly perpetrated on the pup and plan to distribute photos of little Mercy’s wounds to his cell mates once he gets to prison.

WWJD much?
