RE: THE CURSE OF NANCY

By Jennifer Chininis |

Funny how fast news travels in this town. Especially when other media outlets perpetuate the rumors they read on FB. Well, I just got off the phone with Brett Stallard, owner of Modo Mio, who was eager to tell me they were not closing and had never been approached by, or in talks with, Mi Cocina. So that’s good news for us, who have a review of Modo Mio in the May issue, and good news for the folks in Far North Dallas who have come to rely on Modo Mio for its upscale and well-priced Italian specialties. Stallard went on to say that yes, he had been approached by one party, but no deal has been struck. The lease doesn’t expire until the end of 2009, so they’re not going anywhere.

Nancy, wherever you are (in Cambodia, I think), you can take a deep breath. The curse may have been broken.
