THAT SMELL AT THE DOWNTOWN LIBRARY

|

Not many nice things have been written about News columnist Sherry Jacobson in this space. But today she gets a gold star for her column about the homeless problem at the downtown J. Erik Jonsson Library. The homeless problem is an emotionally charged one. It would be easy–especially for a DMN Metro columnist–to offer an “one the one hand, but on the other” take. Yet Jacobson makes a forceful stand, one that’ll likely get her a bunch of angry e-mail. She ends her column by saying:

“After nearly two decades, it’s … time to give Dallas’ premier library back to the people who paid for it.”
