An alert FBvian passes along this story on the influence of elected officials. Sure, two tickets for the Rose Bowl cost $4,000 on eBay. And many UT donors and fans have had no luck in securing their own. But that doesn’t mean the government can’t. Dallas state Rep. Roberto Alonzo got two tickets to the game. Dallas Rep. Dan Branch got six. So did state Sen. Florence Shapiro (R-Plano). And all they had to do was ask the University of Texas System. It provided the officials the seats at $175 a pop–the face-value.
I guess we’re all suckers.
