A CONGRESSIONAL STAR IS BORN

|

For too many years, when remarking on one of their local Congressional representatives–the late Jim Collins, for example, or Sam Johnson–Republicans in Dallas have been able to do little more than sigh and say, “Well, he votes right.” In other cases–say, for example, Joe Barton–Republicans who put party loyalty above principle had to avert their eyes from watching their man carry water for special interests such as the concrete industry.

Today I bring glad tidings of great joy.

Jeb Hensarling, the Aggie who represents part of Dallas County in District 5, is stepping up to the plate in a major leadership role to reduce out-of-control GOP spending and to reform the entire approach Congress takes to its budgeting process. If he’s successful it would revolutionize the Congressional process. Here’s an explanation from John Miller in National Review.
