RE: EXPLODING EXURB

|

A People-newspapering FrontBurnervian has some input on the Prosper prospect:

Having just come from the newspaper in Prosper, I can say that the town wants the commercial growth, and likes the rooftops coming in, but is HIGHLY resistant to becoming “another Frisco.” I sat through many town council meetings where they discussed the best way to grow, but not too fast. They’ve got one of the largest minimum residential lot sizes in the area (Southlake has the biggest), thanks to a recently revamped zoning ordinance. But what was interesting about many of those meetings is how many times someone on the council — or a citizen during public comment — would utter the words, “We don’t want to be another Frisco.” But with the Tollway coming in, growth along the 380 corridor will be insane. Good luck, Prosper.
