A law-watching FrontBurnervian notes this vote Wednesday and wonders:
If blogs aren’t exempt from campaign finance law, where does that leave FrontBurner? I assume you’re exempt just as your magazine or the DMN would be, right? My Congressman Jebb Hensarling tried but failed to protect bloggers but I’m kinda proud when he says things like “the Internet is the new town square.”
And it will remain so. The House is regulating paid-for campaign activity. It may not regulate my speech or your speech or FrontBurner’s (although sometimes I wonder if FB couldn’t do with a little regulation).
