ALL THAT JAZZ

|

If you’ve lived in Dallas long enough to remember the 90th Floor, you’ll want to read on. If you haven’t, you won’t. But a jazz-loving FBvian reports:

A storied piece of Dallas’ musical past will come to life again November 11 and 12, when The 90th Floor returns for two nights. This Mecca of local jazz in the late 1950s and early 1960s will be re-created at Maximedia Sound in Farmers Branch as part of a CD recording event by the Brian Piper Trio. Local piano great Piper will be joined by drummer Jeff Hamilton, bassist Lynn Seaton, and special guest vocalist Trella Hart. A portion of the event will be a tribute to Dick and Kiz Harp, who founded and performed at the legendary club. Seating is extremely limited. Call 214-752-8490.
