A Chicago-interested FrontBurnervian sends along this tidbit. RedEye, the Quick of the Chicago Tribune, has decided to go cheap, as in “free.” The paper thinks the price-reduction–it was previously a quarter/day, $1/week–will increase circulation and, ergo, profit. Publishers up north seem to think the model is working.
