Alberto Lombardi is closing 311 Lombardi restaurant in the West End after nearly twenty years of operation. “The lack of customer traffic and a convention center that was closed for nearly three years have made it impossible for us to continue in our downtown location,” says the suave Lombardi. Meanwhile Taverna (Knox/Henderson) and both locations of Penne Pomodoro (Snider Plaza, Preston & Forest) are going strong and Lombardi’s new brasserie, Café Toulouse & Bar, is scheduled to open later this month in the Knox/Henderson area. This guy just keeps going.
