I’m worried. On Monday, James Ragland wrote a column saying Terrell Bolton might run for mayor. You remember Bolton, right? The incompetent police chief. The one who triple-promoted a bunch of people who couldn’t tie their shoes. The one on whose watch the fake drug scandal happened. The one who it appears tipped his own corrupt officers to a secret FBI investigation of them. The one responsible for plummeting morale in the department and soaring crime rates. Left his job in tears. Then sued the city. Then led marshals on a high-speed chase when they tried to serve him with papers. That guy. Mayor.
He was on the news last night, suggesting that the timing of the decision on his suit (it was dismissed) is related to his mayoral aspirations. But in that same story, it says:
Contrary to some media reports, Mr. Bolton is not considering running for mayor, his attorney said.
So which is it? Is Bolton thinking about running or isn’t he? Because if he is, and if he wins, I’m moving. Hell, even if he gets just 10 percent of the vote, I’m still moving. I can’t live in a city that abides this man.
