Got a call this morning from my cousin-in-law. She and her husband (and two kids and dog) are headed to Dallas right now. She needed directions on how to get to our house. I said, “Can’t you pull up Mapquest?” She said, “Um, Tim, we don’t have power.” Oh, right. She also noted, “We’ve been talking about how we needed to come visit. I just didn’t think I’d be doing it with all our worldly possessions in our car and for quite so long a visit.”
Dropping off The Little Chit at school today, I picked up a registration form for their kindergarten-aged son. The woman in the office told me, “Just have them fill it out as ‘homeless.’ That way, there’ll be no wait and we can get him right in.” They’re lucky, though. All those folks at Reunion Arena without family to stay with–it’s unimaginable.
