Actually, this pseudonym is appropriated from one of her father Edgar Bergen’s ventriloquist dummies, Mortimer Snerd. She only used the pseudonym once in a voiceover role as the SAL 9000 computer, the sister computer to HAL 9000 in 1984’s horrendous (close to blasphemous) sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey, 2010.
