A frustrated, law-practicing FBvian tells us about an interruption he recently had at work:
I got a call on my work phone from some telesales person trying to sell me a home subscription to the DMN. I pressed them and asked if it was appropriate for them to waste valuable corporate time selling personal, “home” subscriptions to potential customers. I got passed on to her supervisor, Mr. Ryan Bagley of Metro News Teleservices–in San Antonio! (210-587-2212). He failed to justify taking time from corporations to sell company employees a newspaper, and I was transferred again. My final stop was the “Floor Manager,” Mr. Darrel Keil (pronounced Kyle). He said they could not discern between home and business numbers and that if I wanted to remove my numbers from the list, I needed to fax him a letter. Ugh! I pressed for an e-mail address: [email protected].
I guess businesses are going to have to start paying for the “no call” lists. What’s next?
Hey, gotta make up for those bogus circ numbers somehow, right?
