We continue to enjoy the wonderful “expanded local coverage” (the word ‘expanded’ here meaning “much less than before”) offered by the Dallas Morning News. In this past weekend’s edition of “Neighbors,” Park Cities readers were treated to a riveting line-up of stories including:
– an Overeaters Anonymous meeting in Carrollton
– a press release on charter schools in Grapevine and Lewisville
– a press release on a computer company in Irving
– a bass tournament held for a slain Garland police officer named “Mad Dog”
– a press release on Oktoberfest in Addison
– a press release on a knitting and crochet event in North Dallas
To be fair, there was some Park Cities news, mostly taken off the HPISD website. Perhaps it’s this unusual editorial mix that accounts for the dozens of copies of “Neighbors” we saw Monday night laying wet and neglected in the gutters along the 3700 block of Normandy. And it makes you wonder: are my “neighbors” in Irving and Garland getting news about us?
