ANOTHER NEW MAGAZINE

|

Three really swell people are launching a national magazine for women! Right here from Dallas! Do they have the $20-30 million required to launch a national women’s magazine? Maybe, maybe not. But they have enough money for a launch party. Here are the details:

I hope by now you received your invitation to the launch party for Bee Magazine, Thursday September 29th at the new W Hotel.

Bee is the first comprehensive national women’s magazine covering politics, travel, world news, fashion and finance — and it will launch out of Dallas this fall. Founder twenty-four-year-old Celine Gumbiner, originally from Monaco and a graduate of SMU, has carved a new niche in the women’s magazine category by offering financial advice, career guidance, investment tips and more from noted contributors like Lynette Khalfani. The magazine’s website is www.beemag.com

Gumbiner’s business partner, Erik Velez, graduated from SMU business school and met Gumbiner at a weekly couples’ poker night. Velez, 30, worked in his family’s New York-based publishing business, and was on his way back to New York when Gumbiner approached him with her idea for Bee.

The Dallas roots run deep in Bee’s editorial department as well, with Ana Maria Castronovo leading the team as Editor-in-Chief. Castronovo joins Bee from Dallas-based lifestyle publications The Advocate/Home & Heritage magazines.

We hope you will be able to make it to the magazine’s launch party. We look forward to hearing from you.
