WHY I LOVE THE STAR-TELEGRAM

By Tim Rogers |

An alert FBvian says we were remiss in not mentioning this opinion piece in yesterday’s Star-T. It’s ostensibly about the Wright Amendment–but wait! Don’t fall asleep yet. Because this piece gets down and dirty:

Traveling east on Airport Freeway, one can find Dallas at the intersection of Selfishness and Megalomania. Uglier than Cinderella’s stepsisters, Dallas is the poster child for urban sprawl, unmanageable neighborhoods, and hysterically comical government. If Dallas were a man, he would be Barney Fife on Prozac.

I say bully on the Star-T. The trend lately has been toward regional cooperation and downplaying the rivalry between our two cities. That trend is boring. Let’s get back to taking shots at each other.

Bring it, Fort Worth. You backwater hicks.
