A FrontBurnervian Foodie with a keen ear writes:
I was standing in front of a Stars hockey player at Subway [Belt Line & McArthur] and he was talking on his cell phone about how whomever owns the Stars is going to sell them soon and so none of the players want to renew their contracts. He also said management isn’t treating Mike Modano very well and Chicago offered him $12 million for 5 years so he might leave even though he doesn’t want to. He was bitching about the fact that all the team meetings were about finance and they never really practiced. When the kid behind the counter asked him if he was going to Vail (training camp) he said, “I will if I’m still with Dallas.”
I checked in with our Subway reporter for a physical description of the player who she says is “short with brown hair and scruffy goatee.” Oh, and he ordered a turkey with mayonnaise, oregano, and banana peppers on white bread for his wife.
