A West Plano-dwelling FBvian tells us why he no longer takes the News (seems we should be getting paid to conduct this market research):
Aside from the hideous conservative proselytizing that apparently passes for journalism at the Dallas Morning Snooze, I had one very compelling reason for canceling my subscription. Just before the subscription “irregularities” became public last year, a “subscription supervisor” showed up at my West Plano front door on a Sunday evening while we were entertaining guests and demanded three months’ payment–immediately. When I said, “If you sent me a bill, it was paid,” he said, “I don’t care, you owe me the money.” I “invited” him off of my property, and then spent 30 minutes on hold the next morning waiting to talk to a call center person to cancel the subscription–which continued to come for another month.
