WEIRD RUMOR OF THE WEEK

|

This comes from George Strong, a Houston Democratic political analyst:

With Rick Perry’s approval numbers under 50% there is some concern in the GOP that they might just need a better candidate. Senator Hutchison was their first choice and Carol Strayhorn the Comptroller is not exactly who they are thinking about. The Gossips think that David Dewhurst the Lt. Gov.could be their candidate if he can get some type of educational bill out of the Legislature.

What? Rick Perry–the meanest, most ambitious (if empty-headed) politician in Texas–will slink off the scene because his poll numbers are bad? George also told us that Kay Bailey was definitely in the race, so take it for what it’s worth.
