I walk in, stand in line, present my card and driver’s license, and a lady behind a desk stacked with papers picks up a phone and begins to dial. “Who are you calling?” I ask. “New York,” she answers. “You don’t have a computer?” I ask. “No,” she answers. After a few minutes on the phone, she looks up and says, “I can only give you 300 Euros.” “What if I want more?” I ask. “Go outside and find an ATM machine,” she says. Which I did.
