A hard-working FrontBurnervian passes along the news that the DMN has a major distribution (70,000) of third-party newspapers scheduled for delivery on Saturday. Third-party newspapers are the ones delivered to non-subscribers and have caught a lot of heat in the industry. (You can read more about them here.) These will be “bulldog” editions (early Sunday editions printed on Saturday).
This comes at the same time that the paper and its contractors are in the middle of contract negotiations, which in some instances have turned ugly, with some employees walking out of meetings and one resigning on the spot. The mood is not good. Developing . . .
