File this under Emails I Don’t Want To Answer:
I hope by now you have received the prototype and media kit I sent you for Bee magazine, the new women’s magazine being launched out of Dallas by former D Home intern Celine Gumbiner. If not, here’s the story…
Gumbiner is launching a new magazine called Bee aimed at women 25 to 45 looking for a single source for information on news, politics, business, lifestyle and fashion. Why? Because believe it or not there is currently no women’s magazine capturing this slice of the market. And like all launches, it has a few interesting twists:
The co-founders, Gumbiner, 24, and Erik Velez, 30, met in Dallas at a weekly Poker game. Celine is a Monaco native; Erik was raised in NYC. Both attended SMU (she for undergrad, he for business school) and are now staying in Dallas to launch the magazine. Bee unabashedly admits that not every woman has the time to read all the newspapers and magazines that she would like. Whether she is 25 and living in her first apartment, 35 and rejoining the workforce after maternity leave or reevaluating life at 45, Bee is a resource that will keep women educated on money, politics, and more.
I’m happy to arrange a conversation between Celine and someone from your staff, if you’re interested.
Gee, I don’t know. I may be busy. (Nah, I wish them good luck and godspeed. However, I am busy…)
