DEPT. OF BAD ALLUSIONS

|

The News today brings us a look at Kunkle’s first year as police chief. In it, Sgt. Jim Chandler, a 34-year veteran and former police spokesman, says of his boss and the department:

“I think he realizes it’s like sailing the Titanic. It takes a long time to turn it around.”

An alert FBvian notes that Chandler just compared being police chief of Dallas to being the captain of the Titanic. Then he wonders if that isn’t why Chandler is a former police spokesman.
